the great outdoors
Jul. 27th, 2009 07:18 amAn interesting weekend. I had Friday off, so headed over to Wales bright and early with
samharber. The forecast wasn't great, but headed to Llanberis Pass (possibly the rainiest place in the country). Luckily, although the black clouds loomed all day, if never actually rained. Heading up to Dinaa Cromlech, we got two long multi-pitch routes done. Alternate leading throughout, which was Sam's first go at leading multi-pitch. Some communication problems due to being out of shouting range kled to speculation about PMR radios.
After BBQ and beer with the rest of the climbing club on Anglesey, we headed to Holyhead Mountain for the Saturday in glorious sunshine. In a fit of keen, I led a couple of tricky HS routes with ony an occasional moment of concern about falling off. Again impressed by Sam's ability to injure himself in almost any situation!
Abandoning the others at 1pm, I began the epic drive from Holyhead to Wellingborough to go to a birthday party which was excellent. Asleep before 9pm last night!
