So....much....lard
Aug. 17th, 2007 01:58 pmA summary of my eating and drinking exploits. We begin, dear reader on Friday 10th August.
Friday: Night out with C. 5 course chinese banquet, wine, beer at the pub afterwards.
Saturday: Feeling weak after a day climbing (C wriggled through a hole which I was too big to fit through..) we repair to the pub for huge meal and beer.
Sunday: Visit parents - Mum had made vast Sunday lunch. Head to Midland Hotel, Manchester for conference for the following week. Order wine, briefly shocked at being charged six quid a glass - then remember its on expenses.
Monday - Conference welcome dinner. 2 inch thick slab of pate, enormous duck for main course, chocolate mountain dessert. Unlimited free booze.
Tuesday: Dinner with colleagues from elsewhere in the country. 5 course chinese banquet. Vow never to look at duck again. Wine.
Wednesday: Make plan to stay in hotel and order salad from room service. Before I can do this, am dragged to Italian resturant for feast. Garlic bread swimming in butter, meat main course and huge dessert. Wine at resturant and hotel. All on expenses.
Thursday: Gala Dinner at end of conference. 3 vast courses - unlimited free wine....
Today could be a night off, but unfortunately have social stuff planned which generally involves a huge takeaway. Tomorrow we are visiting my brother in Doncaster. He loves to cook....
